UCSF Medical Student Kirk Fergus Recipient of AAS Senior Medical Student Travel Award

- November 14, 2019Kirk Fergus, UCSF class of 2020, was awarded the 2020 Senior Medical Student Travel Award by the Association for Academic Surgery (AAS). This award is to recognize the outstanding research efforts by medical students who have demonstrated a strong interest in pursuing a career in surgery. Only six awards are given each year in recognition of their achievements and they are nominated by their faculty. Students are invited to next year’s Academic Surgical Congress held in Orlando, FL.
This is the second consecutive year a student from UCSF has received this award. Last year’s recipient, Joel Ramirez, is currently a vascular surgery resident at UCSF.
